The nuances of preparing for the 11 plus means that two different methodologies exist for long form 11 plus examinations preparation for the independent schools and the correct preparation for the 11 plus examination for a Grammar school place.
It is absolutely critical that at the end of year 4, the parents, children and their 11 plus private tutor all decide clearly if a 11 plus Grammar School place is what is desired, or an 11 plus independent school place is desired or if the parent and child wish to do both in the hope of getting a scholarship at one of the private schools.
Whatever the wishes, we can prepare and have the experience of preparing your child so that not only are they successful in the examinations but also so they never lose their spark for learning. This is why we have a phenomenal take up of our development courses for secondary school and our iGCSE programs. The children absolutely love coming to a centre that encourages them and rewards them to make their educational experience as fulfilling and as rewarding as it could possibly be.
The following testimonial sums up the recommendation for a family who had immigrated for a few years and their child had fallen behind in English and it was suggested that a Grammar school place was impossible and to focus on a place at KES – King Edwards School by ensuring an out of print book on reasoning was completed. Our Director of Core Syllabus Development provided a copy to the parents which resulted in a positive outcome.
Dr. Abid testimonial:
“Mr. Rashid I thought I would share some good news with you. My Son has got into King Edwards. If it wasn’t for your advice and help this wouldn’t have been possible. I think you were right about the verbal reasoning, he must have done well on the paper to compensate for the English yet, we were taking the VR very lightly. Thank you once again. JKH. Dr. Abid.” It is important that specialist knowledge year on year with both course material and the development of appropriate training material is shared honestly with parents to ensure that as a team we are able to get the perfect outcome for the child. That always has to be “the best version of themselves by the age of 11” and if a place is secured, it is a good bonus but GCSE’s and A Level’s are the true examinations for which everyone must peak.
